Cadipietra Valle Aurina
Cadipietra Valle Aurina is a very quiet mountain resort in Italy, if you look for peace and nature; this valley was the last one to be discovered by mass tourism in South Tyrol in the Seventies. The Valle Aurina dialect is infact different from the other parts of South Tyrol; the inhabitants of Valle Aurina are actually called “Tölderer”. Cadipietra is a popular ski resort in the Alps from November till April, as the ski zone Klausberg is located here; if offers many red ski runs. Cadipietra Valle Aurina is also the ideal destination for Nordic ski fans. Another attraction of this village are its handcraft products such as: wooden masks, carved roots and pillow laces.
Hiking trips in Cadipietra Valle Aurina
One of the most popular hiking trips in Cadipietra Valle Aurina is the one towards the Klaussee, one of the most panoramic of South Tyrol; it lies at an altitude of 2000 meters and in case of bad weather it roars as the sea! In winter, it’s possible to participate into many ski tours and Nordic ski trips. The Vedrette di Ries-Aurina natural park also lies in the immediate surroundings of Cadipietra and offers many trekking tours, even by horse and by bike. The Vedrette di Ries- Aurina natural park borders with another natural park in Austria; these parks together build up the biggest protected area in Europe. The culture fans can visit the old copper mine of Predoi; its principal gallery was called “Sankt Ignaz” und it was more than 100 meters long.
